We are looking for another Trade Surveillance Officer to join our team! The role will be an integral part of our Compliance team. Our team, currently consisting of 5 Compliance Officers and a Compliance Manager, is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and ethical conduct across all aspects of our business operations.

What will you do?

We are seeking a highly motivated Compliance Officer with expertise in trade surveillance to join our team. You will be responsible for performing trade surveillance with a view to detecting and preventing market abuse and related regulatory aspects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Daily trade surveillance: Conduct real-time monitoring and surveillance of trading activities to detect and prevent market manipulation, insider trading, and other regulatory violations.
  • Analyse trading data and patterns to identify potential market abuse issues and suspicious activities, and escalate potential high-risk cases to the Compliance Manager.
  • Assist in the monitoring of insider trading risks and the development of the personal trading policy and related controls.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of the trade surveillance system in collaboration with different stakeholders, and the calibration of alert and detection logic.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and industry best practices related to trade surveillance and market integrity.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and filings (STORS).
  • Assist in periodic compliance reviews to assess the effectiveness of existing market abuse controls and processes.
  • Contribute to training development and guidance for employees on market abuse aspects and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a point of contact for market abuse-related questions.

How will you be successful?

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in law, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of >2 years of work experience as a trade surveillance officer, preferably at a regulated exchange/MTF or algorithmic trading firm.
  • Strong understanding of Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) is required and knowledge of MIFID, MICAR, DORA is a plus.
  • Experience in data analysis tools and techniques, including experience with trade surveillance platforms (e.g., Nasdaq Market Surveillance, Actimize) and query languages such as SQL.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • A positive can-do attitude and a creative mind.
