Scope of the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to lead our Quality Management team on an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) project.
As a key member of our project leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout the project’s lifecycle. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will play a critical role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Quality Plan, along with building a long-term partnership with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership:
Create a safe working environment for all project personnel, aiming for an incident and injury-free project.
Set an example by consistently demonstrating safe work practices and ensure the entire team follows suit. - Quality Excellence:
Manage the implementation of the Quality Control Procedures on site by direct and subcontracted workforce.
Develop comprehensive quality plans, manuals, documents, and systems.
Prepare and submit Inspection and Test Plans for all works packages, to the client’s quality team following the review specifications to identify inspection and test requirements.
Manage quality benchmarking, i.e., approval of mock-ups, first of kinds etc., to ensure agreed standards of workmanship before commencement of each work package.
Lead the project team in developing innovative approaches and solutions to enhance QA attention and impact on the project.
Provide training to project personnel on the Contractor’s Project QA/QC plan.
Collaborate with the client to ensure timely submission, approval, and implementation of their quality standards and procedures.
Utilize your hands-on experience to identify and address quality risks in procedures and controls, continuously evaluating and assessing their effectiveness. - Team Leadership and Development:
Demonstrate strong leadership skills by motivating team members and holding them accountable for performance.
Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and quality consciousness.
Mentor and develop leaders within your team.
Lead the delivery of a zero defect/zero rework project, setting the standard for excellence in the organization.
Provide guidance and support to the entire organization in achieving this high standard.
Ensure that all project personnel have received the appropriate training to deliver an exceptionally high-quality project.
Uphold the quality goal of “Zero snags” at the time when the Installation team announces the completion of a system or part of a system.
Manage and deliver your department goals proactively, employing a forward-looking and controlled approach.
Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of delivering large, high-quality construction projects.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Proven track record of successfully leading teams to deliver exceptional results on similar projects.
10+ years of relevant experience in construction quality management.
Hold a Primary or master’s degree in QA/QC or equivalent discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Strong strategic planning and tactical execution abilities.
Experience working as part of cross-functional project teams at all levels.
Proficiency in relevant IT tools and systems.
