We’re looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team and lead our accounting efforts for our global operations. This role provides a unique opportunity to be a part of the core financial team of a rapidly growing company. Reporting directly to our Head of Accounting and working closely with the CFO, you will have full P&L and balance sheet ownership of all Nivoda entities, along with a team to support you. You will also be responsible for enhancing our financial processes, ensuring our records remain up-to-date and accurate. Your remit also includes analyzing financial and operational data, coordinating auditing processes, and safeguarding the accuracy of our financial information.

What you’ll do:

  1. Take on the financial accounting and control responsibilities within the Finance team, reporting to the HoA, and in close cooperation with the CFO.
  2. Ensure key financial processes are performed and reviewed.
  3. Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including the consolidation of 10+ legal entities.
  4. Ensure these statements are prepared in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
  5. Maintain internal controls.
  6. Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, maintain general ledgers, and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records for 10+ entities.
  7. Assist with the design and implementation of the envisaged ERP system.
  8. Review high-level movements of the balance sheet and P&L monthly.
  9. Coach, guide, and mentor less experienced team members.
  10. Contribute to an efficient and effective external audit process.
  11. Lead operational efficiency projects related to accounting processes and reporting.

What you’ll need:

  1. University degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (Bachelor in Accountancy preferred).
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ post article experience (preferably within Big 4 Audit).
  3. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and SOX is a benefit.
  4. CA, RA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification required.
  5. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  6. Proven advanced Excel skills (pivots, complex formulas) and strong quantitative mindset.
  7. Self-starter mentality, resilience, ability to work under pressure, high attention to detail, and adaptability to change.
  8. Experience with NetSuite beneficial.

Important Information

  1. This is a hybrid role with 2 -3 days a week worked from our Amsterdam office.
