The position
Working as part of the software team within the R&D group, you will be involved in the design, implementation and maintenance of highly innovative medical device solutions used in the treatment of diabetes. These solutions combine advanced embedded software development, algorithms and communication protocols into sleek and easy to use devices.
Key responsibilities will include:
Embedded C and/or C++, Python development experience
Experience developing, delivering, deploying, and maintaining hardware products with embedded software preferably in a regulated medical environment
Experience working with Linux based embedded and / or RTOS systems is a distinct advantage
Experience with software development and configuration management tools, e.g. JIRA is a distinct advantage
Development of requirements, specifications and the development of software testing plans, protocols and reports where applicable
Knowledge of communication protocols (BLE, SPI, I2C, UART, etc.)
Experience in software design to control peripheral devices such as sensors, actuators and motors.
Ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with the approved Quality Management System and Processes
Working autonomously, at times, structuring your own deliverables while ensuring delivery of outcomes
The ideal candidate to join our team should be energetic, positive, pro-active and fun! You’ll also have:
3+ years’ experience of embedded programming in C / C++/ C#/ python
Previous involvement of all development stages including software architecture /design, testing and release
Experience of Testing embedded software applications, e.g. unit, integration and system testing. Experience of automation of tests for embedded applications is a distinct advantage.
Experience within the Medical Devices branche
Experience with compliance and standards, e.g., IEC60601-1, IEC 62304, IEC 62366, ISO 14971, ISO 13485 & 21 CFR 820 is a distinct advantage.
Experience in developing medical device software to communicate to mobile platforms (Android, iOS) and related tools
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Track record in delivering in a timely fashion
Ability to work in a cross-functional team of electrical/electronic, software, systems and mechanical engineers
Excellent attention to detail
A high level of self-motivation and drive
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Dutch language is not required
