Customer Service and Logistics Representative
For our Supply Chain Organization supporting our Phosphate Business based out of Amsterdam, we are looking for a Customer Service and Logistics Representative. Our team has evolved over the last years to a professional team and is still growing in activities. We support our customers in West- and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and the Rest of World in case of container business and ocean-going bulk vessels to, amongst others, South America and Africa.
We are one of the world’s largest producers of potash and an integrated producer of a variety of products based on phosphate rock, including phosphate fertilizers, phosphoric acid, and animal feed additives. We are the sixth largest potash producer in the world and the second largest in Western Europe. We are also the largest producer of PK fertilizers (compound potash and phosphate fertilizers) in Europe. Our major markets include Brazil, China, Europe, and India.
About the job
You will receive and manage customer orders, perform stock availability checks, coordinate with the internal logistics department or third-party warehouse, and finally invoice your customers to complete the order process. Other inquiries and complaints are part of our daily business. Maintaining an ongoing relationship with internal and external customers and the sales team is essential. Furthermore, you will organize and coordinate logistics activities (sea, intermodal, road) and monitor inventory.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Order management, tracking order status, and informing stakeholders and customers of any potential order changes.
- Organizing and coordinating day-to-day logistic activities for bulk and packed goods shipped in (bulk) vessels, trucks, or containers to meet requested delivery dates.
- Issuing shipping documents for bulk sea vessel or container orders, such as packing lists, Certificates of Analysis, and Certificates of Origin.
- Billing processes – invoicing customers, managing debit and credit notes, and creating purchase orders and service entry sheets.
- Recording complaints and non-conformities.
- Inventory management of products stored at third-party depots, checking stock levels, reconciling stock differences, and instructing service providers.
- Execution of activities subject to auditing under ISO and SOX standards.
About you
We are looking for someone knowledgeable in customer service and logistics. You have a can-do mentality, enjoy communicating with customers, and can manage your orders in coordination with internal stakeholders. You have knowledge of customs regulations in specific countries or are willing to learn. You understand logistics concepts, transport modes, shipping goods in bulk in vessels, packed cargo in containers, INCO terms, payment terms, L/C (letter of credits), and B/G (Bank Guarantee). You can work with SAP in SD, MM, and IM modules. You have detailed knowledge of the order-to-cash process and general knowledge about financial impacts, credit limits, administrative organization, and costs. Fluent English, Dutch, and/or German is a plus.
