Your job

As the Credit Risk Definition of Default Center Lead, you will give shape to Credit Risks’ overall 2nd line of defence accountability for the Definition of Default topic and ownership of the Definition of Default framework. This framework, currently being refined basis the outcomes of a detailed self-assessment on the topic, details requirements and principles regarding the Definition of Default application level, documentation and steering set-up, calculation, triggers and data. You will form and functionally lead a team of 3 to 5 fte1 that will centrally oversee the compliant application of this framework by change implementation and business as usual parties across the Bank.

Examples of activities to roll out are the integration of the Definition of Default framework into the risk governance and control framework, designing and implementing a Definition of Default change approval & deviations management process, setting up and maintaining a Definition of Default register and pro-actively monitoring and reporting on Definition of Default compliance.

Working environment

Credit Risk Change & Control is one of the shared capabilities departments within the credit risk organisation and is responsible for the orchestration of changes in the credit life cycle, including those pursuant to evolving laws and regulations. The department ensures that changes are implemented in the credit risk landscape – within the credit risk function and broader within the Bank – that these implementations of changes are compliant with regulations, control frameworks are updated, problems are investigated and resolved, and internal and external audits and regulatory inspections & reviews are supported. You will work within the department Change & Control of Credit Risk. The team consists of 27 professionals who together have an overview of all relevant aspects of credit risk management, and bring a wealth of experience in project management, change management and consulting. The team has deep insight of the inner workings of the bank as a whole. Within Credit Risk, professionals can grow and develop further, both in breadth and depth. Your profile

You are an energetic person with a positive attitude, a clear vision and a ‘getting things done’ mentality. You are focused on quality and are not afraid to ask questions or bring challenge that will help improve deliverables. You bring organisational sensitivity, are an excellent stakeholder manager and communicator. 

Skills and Experience:

  • Work experience – you work and reason at a university level and have more than 12 years’ relevant experience in the financial sector and specifically credit risk. 
  • Subject matter expertise – you have extensive demonstrable experience with and knowledge of Definition of Default regulation and its’ implementation.
  • Professional skills – you bring structure, oversight, clarity on expectations and deliverables.
  • Communication skills – strong written & verbally, able to convey the compelling story and convince your stakeholders of the call to action. Comfortable in interactions with senior management & Board level stakeholders internally and external regulators. Fluent in English.
  • We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
