Job Title: Capital Credit Manager (Risk Underwriting)

About the Role:
The Credit Manager (Risk Underwriting) at Nivoda will support and develop the Nivoda Credit Risk Model to enhance credit checks, lead our underwriting capabilities, and line assignment efficiency. This role involves establishing an automated credit risk model, maintaining key underwriting policies, performing detailed credit analysis, making informed underwriting decisions, and working closely with sales and risk management teams impacting Nivoda’s product, brand, and customer experience. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a deep (operational) understanding of credit underwriting and financial principles to build and manage a robust, scalable, and accurate credit risk model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Based on previous experience, is able to quickly identify and distinguish between good and bad credit opportunities, ensuring swift and accurate decision-making.

  • Support the conceptualisation and design of a new credit risk underwriting model, aligning with business goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Data analytical skills to collect and supply data for developing, monitoring, and calibrating credit limits

  • Implement automated credit risk assessment and limit setting plus ability to adapt credit evaluation to comply with different international market regulations

  • Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Account Receivables to manage credit risk and exposure.

  • Create and present analysis to stakeholders and leadership, identifying reasons for variances and evaluating impact.

  • Analyse and evaluate new data sources for credit management strategies, with a focus one efficiency in credit checks, underwriting, and line assignment

  • Make sound judgments based on credit checks and internal communications.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Need:

  • At least 4 years of experience in data analysis with a focus on credit risk.

  • Expertise in programming for data management and analysis.

  • Proficiency in complex data quality analyses and deriving actionable insights.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • Technical proficiency in programming and data analysis.

  • Strong grasp of industry best practices in trade credit and financing.

  • Resilience and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Effective team collaboration and cultural awareness.

  • Strong time management skills, capable of working across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, econometrics or a related field.

  • Knowledge of data governance principles.

  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting and risk management in fintech, banking, or financial institutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in stakeholder management.
