Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps/Azure Platform Cloud Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam, Netherlands. As an Azure Platform Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure-based solutions, with a focus on API management, DevOps, and security. You will work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of APIs and services. Responsibilities:
- API Management:
- Support development teams in their development of APIs
- Implement API solutions using Azure API Management (APIM)
- Design and maintain RESTful services and integrate APIs with various enterprise applications
- Collaborate with development teams to define API specifications and requirements
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of APIs through monitoring and optimization
- Azure DevOps:
- Set up, configure, and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for CI/CD
- Automate build, test, and deployment processes using Azure DevOps
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep
- Ensure seamless integration of APIs and services through automated deployment workflows
- Security and Governance:
- Implement security best practices for APIs, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, and JWT
- Establish API governance policies and ensure adherence to standards
- Conduct regular security audits and reviews of API implementations
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand integration and DevOps requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for API and DevOps-related issues
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for development teams on API management and DevOps practices
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in API management, DevOps, and cloud computing
- Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance the API management and DevOps process
- Continuously improve API performance, scalability, and security, as well as CI/CD pipeline efficiency
Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in API management, with at least 3 years working with Azure API Management
- Proven experience in setting up and managing Azure DevOps pipelines
- Experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Experience with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Service Bus
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of API security frameworks and protocols
- Proficient in API design and development using Swagger/OpenAPI specifications
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and build automation
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
